そのような人は,自分は’宇宙の市民’であると感じ,宇宙が提供するスペクタクルや,宇宙が与える喜びを存分に享受し,また,自分の後から来る人々（子孫その他）と自分とは本当に別個な存在だとは感じないので,死を恐怖して悩むこともない。最も大きな歓喜が見いだされるのは,’生命の流れ’との深く本能的な結合においてである。
Such a man feels himself a citizen of the universe, enjoying freely the spectacle that it offers and the joys that it affords, untroubled by the thought of death because he feels himself not really separate from those who will come after him. It is in such profound instinctive union with the stream of life that the greatest joy is to be found.
