【"work" ：３つの単語の中では最も総体的、包括的な言葉で、あらゆる意味での労働、仕事及びその産物を言う。画家や芸術家なら出来上がった作品であり、学者や作家なら著作のこと。】
【"labor" ：主として肉体労働でしかも重労働を指す。苦しみの連想があることから、妊婦の出産までの苦痛との戦いも"labor"と言う。】
【"toil" ：今日では余り使われないが、"labor"よりも長引いた形で、倦まず弛まず辛い仕事に堪えていくことを暗示している。】

(1-1) I get more work done in the morning than in the evening.
