【"phase"：科学的、客観的に見た（いろいろな）側面や段階。人間を含め森羅万象には成長から終末に至る cycle があり、刻一刻変化していく諸段階があるというニュアンス。】
【"aspect"：発話者の主観による（いろいろな）側面のことで、"phase"のように「段階」を意識しないで使う言葉。】

(1-1) As one grows, one goes through different phases of development.
[人間はいろいろな段階を経て成長していく。]

(1-2) The water exists in the solid phase as ice, in the liquid phase as water and in the gaseous phase as vapor.
[水は固まると氷の形になり液体になると水として存在し、ガス状になると蒸気として存在する。]

(2) "I'll take up the particular aspect of the economy."
[この国の経済問題をその側面にしぼって考えてみたいと思います。]
