【"decay"：健全だったものが時の流れとともにしだいに腐食・腐敗・老朽化していくことを表す】
【"decompose"：腐敗することだが"decay" よりもその過程（物質を構成する化合物の要素がバラバラになっていくこと）を表す】
【"deteriorate"：品質が劣化していくことを表す、日常的に使われる言葉】

(1) The house is in decay.
「家は老朽化しつつある。]

(1-2) I have a few decayed teeth. I have to see my dentist.

(2) The foul odor of decomposing food pervaded the dump.
