【"training"：動物を含めて、ある事柄に熟達するように、主として練習によって（繰り返し）訓練すること。"口語では"教育そのものも"training"ということがある。】
【"discipline"：自己の内部に向けられた訓練で、セルフ・コントロールに基づく修行や鍛錬を言う。学業に用いられる場合は、"training"が一般教育であるのに対し、"dicipline"は専門の科目を総称する。】
