【"despise"：相手に嫌悪感をもって軽蔑する。】
【"detest"：「虫酸が走る」ように嫌う。】
【"disdain"：相手に対する嘲り（見下し）を人前に誇示する言葉で一人称では使わない。ただし対象が人間でない場合は全ての人称で使う。】

(1) He despised his rich industrialist father for his typical, capitalist attitude to labor.
[彼は彼の金持ちの事業主の父親を,その典型的な資本家根性の故に軽蔑した。]

(2) I detest him.
[私は彼が大嫌い。]

(3-1) She disdains him.
[彼女は彼に嫌悪感を持っていて相手にしない。]
