【"classic"：形容詞として使われる時は、"classical"とは別の意味を持つ。即ち，"classic"は「定着して標準化されたもの」（典型的」「代表的なもの」を言う。（古典とは余り関係がない）。】
【"classical"：名詞の"classic"と直接の関係を持つ形容詞で，(1)古典に関するもの，または問題の時点よりも以前を指す（時間的感覚で物を言う）場合と、(2)ギリシア・ローマの歴史的作品を意味する場合、の２通りがある。ちなみに、クラシック音楽は classic music ではなく classical music。】
