【"big"：口語的で、並外れた大きさを表す形容詞。】
【"large"：通常、内容的に量が多いあるいは並外れて大きいと同時に、受け入れる内容も種類が広いことを暗示する。】

(1-1) He is a big importer. [= He is a prominent importer.]
[彼は名の知れた輸入商だ。]

(1-2) The big issue of the campaign was inflation.
[選挙戦の一大論点はインフレだった。]

(2-1) He is a large importer. [= As an importer he deals with a wide range of items.]
