★ grim / grisly / ghastly (pp.100-101)
"grim": ３つの中では最も抽象的で、"terrfying"（ひどく怖がらせる；ぞっとする；厳しい）という程度。
"grisly": 変質的な、残酷な意思から出てきた残酷な行為、即ち、戦争などの一般的な恐怖ではなく、計画されたサディステックな行為を間接的に暗示している言葉。
　* these strange and grisly events（これらの奇怪で残忍な事件）
"ghastly": "ghost" と関係があり、"ghastly fear" はよく使われるフレーズ。
　* a ghastly face that spoke of the hair raising experience she had experienced"（その恐ろしい経験を語る少女の真っ青な顔

　Ｒ英単語・熟語集の用例とはできるだけ重複しないようにしますが、用例が少ない場合はどうしても重複してしまいます。あしからず。
