この前の復活祭のとき,息子は,チョコレート製の復活祭のたまご(Easter eggs)をたくさんもらった。私たちは,あまりチョコレートを食べすぎると具合が悪くなるよと言ったが,そう言った後,一人にしておいた。息子は食べすぎて具合が悪くなった。息子は,病状が峠を越すとすぐ,にこにこしながら私のところへやって釆て,勝ち誇ったように，次のように言った。「ぼく具合が悪かったんだよ,パパ。具合が悪くなるって,パハ言ったよね。」
科学的法則を確認した息子の喜びは,大変なものであった。
Last Easter my boy was given a number of chocolate Easter eggs. We told him that if he ate too much chocolate he would be sick, but, having told him, we left him alone. He ate too much and was sick. He came to me as soon as the crisis was over, with a beaming face, saying, in a voice almost of triumph : "I was sick, Daddy--Daddy told me I should be sick." His pleasure in the verification of a scientific law was astonishing.

On education, especially in early childhool は1926年２月に出版されています。チョコレート食べすぎ事件は last easter となっていますので、1925年4月4日の出来事のはずです。
添付したラッセルの家族写真は1924年（john ３歳）のものですのが、１年後（4歳の時の John)を想像していただければと思います。
