神の永遠なる祝福は貧者にとって慰めであるという見解に関しては，その見解は富者によって常に抱かれてきた。しかし，貧者はそういう見解には飽き始めている。多分，今日においては，神という観念を経済的不正の擁護と結びつけていると思われることはほとんど賢明なことではない。
As for the view that God's eternal blessedness should be a comfort to the poor, it has always been held by the rich, but the poor are beginning to grow weary of it. Perhaps, at this date, it is scarcely prudent to seem to associate the idea of God with the defence of economic injustice.
