【"tendency"：人間にも物事にも使え、人間の場合は先天的な傾向でも後天的な傾向でもよい。】
【"trend"：主に事象について言い、"tendency"よりも抽象的かつ動きが緩慢で、行く方向ははっきりしていないが、その方向に動いていることだけは確実だというニュアンス。】

(1-1) I have a tendency to gain.

(1-2) She has a tendency to exaggerate things.
[彼女は物事を誇張する傾向がある。]

(1-3) There is a general tendency towards lower prices for imported goods.
[舶来品（輸入品）が一般的に安くなる傾向にある。]

[文学の新しい傾向はストーリーを拒否することである。小説の筋とか物語などはもはや（問題ではなくなっている。]
