【"frank"：inhibition (タブー意識)から完全に解放された感覚を言い、言いにくいことでも快く相手に打ち明けると同時に、相手に対する批判も気を使わないでする、といった性格を持つ言葉。そのため「臆面もなく」の意も含まれる。】
【"candid"：自分に不利でも真実を認め、それによって（公平な立場で）行動しようというのが建前の言葉。】

(1-1) I want you to be frank with me about this matter, whatever you say won't hurt me.
[このことについて本当のことをお聞かせください。何をおっしゃろうと、私は傷ついたりしませんから。]

(1-2) Her frank but indelicate way of telling the inside story shocked everyone concerned.
[彼女のあけすけな内部事情の暴露は関係者にショックを与えた。]

(2-1) My candid opinion is that he should not be wholly trusted.
[私の忌憚のない意見を言えば、彼を全面的に信用してはいけない。]
