★ alternative 二者択一（の）；代替（の）､他にとりうる道(３つ以上選択肢がある場合もある) (pp.013-014)
(1) 英語特有の考え方のちらつく言葉で、それがいやなら他にやり方があるかどうかを常に考えているところからでる言葉。

(2) 二者択一を迫られて、その両者ともありがたくない場合（一種のジレンマ状態）にも使う。
