＜寸言＞
宗教といっても多種多様です。まず大きな違いに一神教（絶対神）か多神教かの違いがあります。無教会主義か、教会が中心かの違いもあります。国家が神格化されることもあります。
多神教の場合はあまり問題はないですが、絶対神を仰ぐ一神教はやっかいです。キリスト教（旧教と新教）とユダヤ教とイスラム教はもともと同一の神を信仰の対象にしていましたが、現在ではかなり異なっていると思われています。それだけでも大変なのに、同一宗教でも宗派がたくさんあり、いったい何千種類の神が存在するのか誰も把握していません。なぜなら、自分が信仰する宗教の神以外、偽物だと思っているからです。
この際、各宗教の代表が一堂に会し、決着がつくまで討論したらどうでしょうか？ 「朝まで生討論、宗教最終決戦、生き残るのはどの宗教か!?」といった番組でも企画して、白黒つけてもらいたいものです。もちろん、最終決着にはたどりつかないでしょうが、「討論中は宗教戦争を禁止」にすれば、永続的な平和が続きそうです。
There is a variety of religions in the world. One of the major distinctions is between monotheism (worship of an absolute God) and polytheism. There is also the difference between church-centered faith and non-church movements. In some cases, even the state itself is deified.
Polytheism doesn’t pose much of a problem, but monotheistic religions that worship an absolute God can be quite troublesome. Christianity (both Catholicism and Protestantism), Judaism, and Islam originally worshipped the same God, but today, they are perceived as vastly different. To make things even more complicated, within each of these religions, there are countless sects. No one knows exactly how many gods exist, simply because each believer considers any deity outside of their own faith to be false.
In that case, why not have representatives of each religion gather in one place and debate until a conclusion is reached? We could even organize a TV program titled "Overnight Live Debate: The Ultimate Religious Showdown ? Which Religion Will Survive?!" and finally settle the matter. Of course, a final resolution would never be reached, but if we were to impose a rule stating "No religious wars during the debate," we might just achieve eternal world peace.
