The ancient Greeks, on the other hand, emerged from an amalgamation of northern barbarians and an indigenous population; the Athenians and Ionians, who were the most civilized, were also the most mixed. The supposed merits of racial purity are, it would seem, wholly imaginary.

＜寸言＞
日本人も初期の頃は多くの人種の間で混血が行われ、海外からかってに入ってこれなくなってからは、新たな人種との混血はほとんどなくなりました。
いろいろな人種と混血していない日本人を誇りに思っている人がそこそこいますが、最も純粋な人種はホッテントット、ピグミー及びアボリジニだと皮肉を言われたら、どういった反論をするでしょうか？
無規制で移民を受け入れれば混乱が生じるでしょうが、日本の人口がどんどんへっていっている（若い人がどんどん減っている）ので、今のように厳しい移民政策を続けていけばひどいことになりそうです。優秀な若い人材は、世界中からどんどん受け入れて日本国籍も与えたほうがよいと思われますがどうでしょうか？
