勇気というと肉体的勇気を思い浮かべ、精神的勇気を思い浮かべない人が少なくない。社会をうまく機能させるためには、権力者におもねり、忖度し、でしゃばらないほうがよいと考える人も少なくない。しかし、そのような社会は喜びの少ない、生きる価値のあまりない社会ではないか？ もちろん、混乱した社会には誰も住みたくないが、偽善に溢れ、結局弱者が最後には犠牲になるような社会にしてはならない。
