権力愛は，政治家にとってと同じく，教育者にとって一番大きな危険である。教育において信頼できる人は，生徒自身のために（自分の）生徒に関心を持つべき（care for大事にすべき）であって，単に将来におけるある大義のための多数の宣伝掛りとして，関心を持つようではいけない。
Love of power is the chief danger of the educator, as of the politician; the man who can be trusted in education must care for his pupils on their own account, not merely as potential soldiers in an army of propagandists for a cause.
