In regard to all sexual matters there is a polarity according as they are described from the point of view of the participants or from that of jealous outsiders. What we do ourselves is "gallantry" ; what others do is "fornication". We must therefore remember the emotionally coloured terms, and we may employ them on occasion; but we must do so sparingly, and, in the main, we must content ourselves with neutral and scientifically accurate phraseology.

＜寸言＞
恋愛においては極端な言葉を使うのもよいであろうが、対話の場においては可能な限り客観的な感情を表さない言葉を使うほうがよい。その場合、多くの政治家は人気がなくなり、当選しにくくなるかも知れないが、大衆受けすることを言い続ける必要性から、一部の者に対しては利益誘導できても国民全体のためにならないことしてしまう可能性は減るであろう。
