いま一つ例をあげて申しますと,地球と火星の間に楕円形の軌道にのって回転している中国製の陶器製のティーポットがないとは誰も証明することができませんが,だからといって,そういうものがあるということが,実際に十分に計算に入れられるべきだなどとは誰も考えません。私は,キリスト教の神も,ちょうどこれと同じように実在しそうもないと考えます。（出典： ラッセル『拝啓バートランド・ラッセル様－一般市民との往復書簡』）To take another illustration : nobody can prove that there is not between the Earth and Mars a china teapot revolving in an elliptic orbit, but nobody thinks this sufficiently likely to be taken into account in practice. I think the Christian God just as unlikely.
