【"endeavor (endeavour)"：何か全体的な目的のために「努力する」ことであり、たいていの場合 "attempt"で代用できる。どちらかというと大時代的な感じがある。】
【"effort"：個人的に多大の努力を払って何かをすること。】

(1) We hope you will understand our endeavor to maintain the high standards of our country's school education.
[我が国の学校教育の高水準を持続していこうとする我々の努力をおかかりいただけると存じます。]

(2-1) You have to make only a little effort to come to the office on time since you live very near it.
