★ inroad ; inroads 侵蝕 (pp.124-125)
　企業などで、他人や他社の領分に食い込む（侵食する）こと。通常、複数形（inroads）を用い、"make inroads on (or into)" の慣用句がある。
-1. I hate to make inroads on your territory, but could you possibly spare ... ?（あなたの領分を侵したくないのですが、もしできたら、あれを私にゆずっていただきたいのですが・・・？）
-2. Such a censorship is a serious inroads on the principle of free speech.（そういう検閲は言論の自由の重大な侵害だ。）
