It is pleasant to believe in so-and-so's pills, since it gives you hope of better health; it is possible to believe in them, if you find their excellence very frequently and emphatically asserted. Nonrational propaganda, like the rational sort, must appeal to existing desires, but it substitutes iteration for the appeal to fact.
