1946年6月14日生まれのトランプ大統領は、あと２カ月で79歳になります。トランプ大統領は世界中に影響を与え続けているので、自意識の上では「自分は充実した老年期を送っている」と思っているでしょうか？ それとも、（フロイトのいう）潜在意識では自分は不幸だと感じているのでしょうか？
トランプの自己認識はどうであれ、世界の多くの人々にとって、トランプは迷惑な人物、いわゆる「トラブルメイカー」です。普通なら、無視すればよいのですが、残念なことに多くの人に実害を及ぼしています。特に米国は日本に強い影響力を持っていますので、日本人はトランプを無視することができません。
ラッセルの「充実した老年期を送るには，適切な活動を伴う強い非個人的な関心を持っている人が最も容易である」（a successful old age is easiest for those who have strong impersonal interests involving appropriate activitie）という言葉にあてはまめると、「非個人的な事柄に関心をもてないトランプは残念な老年期を送っている」ということになりますが、どうでしょうか？
President Trump, who was born on June 14, 1946, will turn 79 in two months. Since he continues to exert influence worldwide, does he consciously believe that he is leading a fulfilling old age? Or, on the other hand, does he subconsciously (in Freud’s sense) feel unhappy?
Regardless of Trump’s self-perception, for many people around the world, he is an annoyance?what we call a “troublemaker.” Ordinarily, one could simply ignore such a person, but unfortunately, he has caused real harm to many. In particular, since the United States wields significant influence over Japan, the Japanese cannot afford to ignore Trump.
Applying Bertrand Russell’s statement?“A successful old age is easiest for those who have strong impersonal interests involving appropriate activities”?to Trump, we might conclude that “since he is incapable of taking an interest in impersonal matters, he is spending an unfortunate old age.” What do you think?
