私には恐怖心などないという堂々とした態度で「嘘をつく」人間（国会議員その他）も、嘘がばれると堂々とした態度は消え、弁解がましい哀れな態度をとりがちです。斉藤元彦氏などは「堂々とした態度」をとり続けようとしていますが、無理があることは自分でもわかっていると思われ、「平静さを見せようとする努力」はより滑稽に見えます。
Those who 'lie' with a bold attitude, claiming to be fearless (such as members of parliament and others), often lose their confidence when their lies are exposed and tend to adopt a pitifully defensive demeanor. Take Motohiko Saito, for example?while he tries to maintain a 'bold attitude,' it seems evident even to himself that such an effort is unsustainable. His 'attempt to appear composed' only ends up looking more comical.
