Russell was sent to Brixton Prison outside London for about five months, from May to September 1918, for his opposition to the First World War and anti-war activities. Even though it was a hundred years ago, in Japan you are never asked about the religion you believe in when you enter prison. In the UK, are British citizens still asked this when entering prison?
Agnosticism is, of course, not a religious sect, but a position that states that we cannot recognise the true nature of things or the final ground of existence, and that we cannot prove or deny the existence of God.
