The impropriety of identifying ‘Satellite of the Earth' with the Moon is easily seen when it has once been pointed out. The phrase,‘Satellite of the Earth', would not alter its meaning if a second satellite were discovered; nor would it be destitute of meaning for a person who understood astronomy but did not know that the Earth had a satellite. Statements about the Moon, on the other hand, if we may take ‘The Moon' as a name, are meaningless except to those who are aware of the Moon.
