We had each lived in Paris for fairly long periods, but I had never visited any of the things that one should see. It was pleasant to travel up and down the river in the bateaux mouches, and to visit various churches and galleries and the flower and bird markets. But we had set-backs: we went to the Ste Chapelle one day and found it full of Icelanders being lectured to on its beauties. Upon seeing me, they abandoned the lecture and crowded about me as the 'sight' of most importance. My remembrance of the Ste Chapelle is somewhat garbled.
