* avenge と revenge のニュアンスの違い:avenge の「復讐」は、不正や悪事に対する、正義感から行うもので「敵討ち」「フェアな当然の仕返し」といったニュアンス。revenge は「個人的な動機による復讐(リベンジ)」で自分に悪いことをした相手に対する、恨みや怒りに基づいた行動。
