現代においては，たとえば政治においても「浮動層」が国民のとても多くの割合をしめている。世の中が複雑になったことが大きな原因であるが，同時に、多数意見に従っておけば、間違ったとしても「みんなまちかったのだから」と自分を許せるという深層心理が働いているような気がする。
