【ラッセルは，一九五一年十二月,（「狂信への最良の解答――自由主義」という論文の末尾に）「旧い十戒」を廃棄する意図からではなく,ただ補足し,新しい十戒を広めたいとの思いから,「自由人のものの見方の精髄」として,その十項目を発表した。】四,反対意見には,家族の反対でも,議論で説得し,権威で勝とうとしてはいけない。権威を使っての勝利は,真の勝利ではなく,単なる幻にすぎないからである。
4. When you meet with opposition, even if it should be from your husband or your children, endeavor to overcome it by argument and not by authority, for a victory dependent upon authority is unreal and illusory.
