If your desires are moderate, you can live peacefully without great dissatisfaction, as long as you get what satisfies your desires to a certain extent. However, if you have excessive desires, it is natural that you will have much more of what you cannot get than what you can get, and the dissatisfaction of not getting much will prevail over the feeling of satisfaction. That would be an unhappy life.
