In response to the breaking news of Trump's (former U.S. President) victory in the presidential election, Prime Minister Ishiba said, “I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Trump on his victory. I also salute the democratic choice of the people of the United States.” The message read, “I congratulate Mr. Trump on his victory and respect the democratic choice of the people of the United States of America. The phrase “the democratic choice of the people of the United States" is a little confusing, but since there is no way that Harris's victory is not a “democratic choice,” we can only assume that it means “congratulations on being elected in a democratic election without riots. Nevertheless, the chemistry between Prime Minister Ishiba and Trump does not seem to be very good. They are both Christians, but Trump is an evangelical, so there is going to be a big gap in their religious views as well.
