* a brief comment
Bertrand Russell has fans all over the world. Accordingly, Russell was frequently approached by people from all over the world who wanted to hear his views and to have his support. In his youth, Russell had hoped that ‘when I reach old age, I will retire from the world and lead an elegant cultural life, reading all the great books I should have read in my youth’, but this was an unfulfilled dream. Russell could not afford to ignore or appropriate those who depended on him, even complete strangers.
