Russell did not write any books for the public to earn money until he remarried Dora Black in 1921 and had a child. However, with the birth of his children and the need to earn some money, he wrote and published a series of books for the general public, On Education (1926), Marriage and Morals (1929) and The Conquest of Happiness (1930). He wrote and published them in rapid succession. All of these books became bestsellers in Britain and the USA. During this period, he also published a number of other books for the general public, including The ABC of Atom (1923), The Future of Science (1924), An Introduction to Relativity (1925), An Outline of Philosophy (1927), Sceptical Essays (1928) and The Scientific Outlook (1931).
