陶酔を必要とする愛
いかなる種類のものであれ,陶酔を必要とするような幸福は,見せかけのものであり,不満足なものである。本当に満足できる幸福は,私たちの様々な能力を最大限に発揮させてくれるものであり,私たちの生きている世界を最大限に理解させてくれるものである。 (『ラッセル幸福論』第７章「罪悪感」)The happiness that requires intoxication of no matter what sort is a spurious and unsatisfying kind.
