やりがいのある仕事
完全に飢えることなしに、人間の建設的な衝動を満足させる仕事をすることが可能な場合には、もし彼がずっと高給であるがそれ自体としてやりがいがあるとは思えないような仕事の方を優先して選ぶとしたら，'彼自身の幸福'の観点から（お金よりもやりがいを選んだほうがよいだろうと）忠告されるのがよいだろう、と私は考えている。 (『ラッセル幸福論』第14章「仕事」)but I think that where it is possible to do work that is satisfactory to a man's constructive impulses without entirely starving, he will be well advised from the point of view of his own happiness if he chooses it in preference to work much more highly paid but not seeming to him worth doing on its own account.
