　「神の意向」による神の存在証明法とは,「この世は万事人間がちょうどよく生存できるように(神によって)造られているのであり,もし今と少しでも違っていたら人間は生きていけない（いけなかった)だろう」といった考え方です。(それは,時として,かなり奇妙な形をとることがあります。)たとえば,兎が白い尾を持つのは人間が鉄砲で撃ちやすいようにとの神様のご意向である,というように。・・・。それは,簡単にもじることができる証明法です。皆さんは,ヴォルテールの,「鼻はあきらかに眼鏡をかけるために創案された」という言葉をご存じでしょう。・・・。
　初めから生物の生存に適するように環境がつくられていたのではなくて,生物が環境に適するようになったのであり,それがダーウィンの進化論以来の適応性の基礎であります。それについて,誰かの意向のせいにする証拠は全くないのです。・・・。

It sometimes takes a rather curious form; for instance, it is argued that rabbits have white tails in order to be easy to shoot. ... It is an easy argument to parody. You all know Voltaire's remark, that obviously the nose was designed to be such as to fit spectacles.
